BROKENNESS
Brokenness in literary meaning
means state of being damaged or shattered. In this context brokenness is
defined as a means to Godliness, Righteousness and Holiness. We are like a pot
in the hand of the potter. Isaiah 64:8 “But now O Lord, thou art our father; we
are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand”.
There are lots of
complexities we human being have formed over time due to our experiences. God
requires that not until we are broken, we may not enjoy a complete cordial
relationship with HIM. Even though HE is so gracious and merciful, there is a
level God expects us as children to be reaching daily which is
Spiritual growth. No unbroken can live in holiness and hence cannot meet with
God. He that wants to secure a cordial relationship with God must break away
from Self and Flesh. Romans 8:8 so then they that are in the flesh cannot
please God.
He that is born of flesh is
of flesh and he that is born of spirit is spirit. Commonly every human are influenced
by fleshly desires. i.e Self actualization, self interests of varying degrees. These
have to be broken away from someone’s life and a new personality emerged that a
state of brokenness is achieved.
Benefits of this state of
brokenness
- All self inspired goals are suppressed for God’s divine purpose to emerge.
- The world has no authority over such individual again but has authority over the world.
- There is full control over God’s Treasures hidden to those in flesh.
